At seventeen, I was homeless. At nineteen, I was not just a single mother, I was a young mother.
I know what it’s like to be rejected, ridiculed and betrayed.
I know what it feels like to be fearful. shamed into silence, battling cycles of pain.
But that wasn’t the end of my story.
I fought back.
I made a decision that I was not going to be another statistic.
I went from homelessness at seventeen to a graduate at twenty-four.
I went from a young, rejected mother to a homeowner and entrepreneur at twenty-seven.
I went from hiding my voice to speaking on global stages.
I turned my pain into power
And where has it taken me?
Doors have opened that I only dreamed about.
From dining with presidents to supporting young village children with school supplies. I have seen what happens when we renew our minds.
I have seen that infinite possibilities are available to us all; we just need a little help along the journey.
That’s why I lead this challenge.
